Title: Remarks on the (B) conjecture

Speaker: Liran Rotem (Dunham Jackson Assistant Professor, University of Minnesota)

Abstract: The original (B) conjecture is a question regarding the Gaussian measure, asked by Banaszczyk and popularized by Latała. It was proved in 2004 by Cordero-Erausquin, Fradelizi and Maurey, who asked if a similar result can hold for more general log-concave measures. This question is intimately related to some of the most fundamental open conjectures in convex geometry such as the log-Brunn-Minkowksi conjecture.

In this talk we will show that a certain variant of the conjecture is false. We will also show several equivalent formulations of the conjecture which may be useful in order to prove it at least in some special cases.

Based on joint work with D. Cordero-Erausquin.
