MAMS Alumnus Jacob Bedrossian Awarded the 2019 IMA Prize in Mathematics and its Applications

Alumnus, Dr. Jacob Bedrossian, professor of mathematics at the University of Maryland, College Park was recently awarded the 2019 IMA Prize in Mathematics and its Applications. The award is recognition of Dr. Bedrossian’s impact on mathematical sciences and their applications, through contributions made to studies on partial differential equations of fluid dynamics, more specifically, to hydrodynamic stability. Bedrossian received his Master’s in Applied Mathematics from Case Western Reserve in 2007. He was advised by Dr. Steven Izen, where he completed a dissertation titled, “An Amplitude FInite Element Formulation for High-Frequency Acoustic Scattering Problems.” Congratulations, Dr. Bedrossian!
