After a few years of pandemic hiatus, the ASA DataFest was back at CWRU during the weekend of April 14 -16, 2023. This year the event was co-sponsored by the MAMS Department and the Department of Computer and Data Sciences.
DataFest is a nationally-coordinated data analysis competition supported by the American Statistical Association, held at more than 70 universities in the US and abroad. On a Friday afternoon, ten teams of energetic CWRU undergraduate students came to meet a large and complex data set, ready for 48 hours of intensive data wrangling and data analysis. The teams came up with creative, insightful and innovative ways to extract interesting information the data set. The weekend culminated in presentations for a panel of judges and we would like to congratulate all presenting teams. Teams that were awarded special prices were:
