Drs. Calvetti and Somersalo Featured on the SIAM Review Front Cover

Our own, Dr. Calvetti and Dr. Somersalo’s article “Bayes Meets Krylov: Statistically Inspired Preconditioners for CGLS” is featured on the cover of SIAM Review’s Volume 60 number 2 issue.  Their method combines the advantages of the Bayesian inference and Krylov subspace methods in a novel technique of solving under-determined linear inverse problems. Analysis and Probability Seminar: “Multiscale Conservation Laws Driven by L/’evy Stable and Linnik Diffusions: Asomptotics, Explicit Representations, Shock Creation, Preservation, and Dissolution”

Join the Department of Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Statistics (MAMS) on Tuesday October 16, 2018 for an Analysis and Probability Seminar given by Dr. Wojbor Woyczynski, Professor, CWRU Department of MAMS.  Dr. Woyczynski will speak on “Multiscale Conservation Laws Driven by L/’evy Stable and Linnik Diffusions: Asomptotics, Explicit Representations, Shock Creation, Preservation, and Dissolution.” The seminar will be held in Yost 306, from 2:30 – 3:30 PM.
