Title: Matrix Inequalities and Applications

Speaker: Ben Li (Graduate Student, Case Western Reserve University MAMS Department)

Abstract: We present some classical inequalities involving matrices, namely Rotfel’d Inequality and Fuchs-van de Graaf inequalities. Next, we sketch some of their applications to the geometry of Schatten spaces and to quantum information theory. This is the first of two talks.
