Title: Simultaneous Rational Approximation

Abstract

We give general conditions of uniform convergence for sequences of simultaneous rational approximants associated to Nikishin systems of functions. In our research we used some tools coming from different branches of analysis such as logarithmic potential theory, Riemann surfaces, Riemann-Hilbert problems, among others. In History: simultaneous rational approximation was introduced by Hermite in his proof of the number e is transcendental. In addition Nikishin’s work on simultaneous rational approximation was the inspiration of Rivoal when he proved that there are infinitely many odd integers where the Riemann zeta function takes irrational values.
