On March 30, 2023, SIAM the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics announced that Daniela Calvetti, Williamson Professor in the Department of Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Statistics at Case Western Reserve University is a member of the 2023 Class of SIAM Fellows. These distinguished members were nominated for their exemplary research as well as outstanding service to the community. Through their various contributions, SIAM Fellows help advance the fields of applied mathematics and computational science. The number of SIAM Fellows is rather small, accounting for 0.4% of the number of regular members of the society. This year 26 individuals were elected SIAM Fellows. Here you can learn more about them. This is what SIAM writes about professor Calvetti.
Professor Calvetti has been a member of SIAM for decades, and she has served the society in many roles. Most recently, she has been the program Director of the SIAM Uncertainty Quantification activity group, and she was a co-chair of the SIAM Conference on Uncertainty Quantification.
